Lumbar Canal Stenosis

Degenerative (age related) condition of the spine in which spinal canal narrows due to wear and tear of spine and compresses nerves. It is usually seen in elder age group after 50-60 years of age.

SYMPTOMS

Low back pain
Radiating leg pain
Difficulty in walking due to back or leg pain/numbness/tingling

TREATMENT

Depending on severity of symptoms and affection of daily activities –if patient is too much disabled then decompressive surgery with or without stabilization procedure is to be offered to the patient, otherwise wait and watch with regular follow-ups.
